ADHD Coaching

As an ADHD life coach, my job is to be a thinking partner or thought curator so that you, the expert in your life, can come up with transformational solutions that are tailored to your unique mind.

And

As an ADHD family coach, I come alongside you as a parent so that you can come alongside your ADHD child. I help you take off your Parent-Teacher-Teller hat and put on a Coaching hat so that you can support your child to prosper in the non-ADHD world.

Friends, Rhea “gets” it. I would recommend her as a coach 100%.

Rhea Finch is an excellent listener. When I am speaking with her, I feel that her eyes, ears and heart are tuned to my frequency!

ADD folks tend to feel “less than” in a world of “movers and shakers”. After time spent in a session with Rhea, I do not feel “less than” at all, but quite the opposite. I am encouraged to embrace my creative, intelligent, imaginative self.

Rhea has suggested personalized, do-able action plans that provide realistic ways to help me to stay on course and finish projects. She is compassionate and understanding. She has taught me to welcome the somewhat a-typical way that my brain maneuvers life.

Rhea is phenomenal at really hearing what I say, and reflecting that back to me in a way which inspires insight after insight.

I began coaching for my ADHD under Rhea about two years ago, and it has changed the course of my life. That sounds dramatic, but as a 63 year old with ADHD, I struggled every day with my self image, how I negatively affected others with my ADHD, and continual failure to “do better.” The future looked like one steep slide into purposelessness.

I have quite a bit of experience with coaching, so I had an idea of what to expect: my coach would guide me in finding solutions, such as the best calendar app for ADHD. What I didn’t expect was a coach like Rhea. Her gift of connecting through intuition, compassion, and detecting my light bulb moments before I do has led me to alter not just which apps I use, but how I think of myself and what I’m capable of. Now I’m 65 with ADHD and I look forward to what my life will be like tomorrow and ten years from now.

Rhea is phenomenal at really hearing what I say, and reflecting that back to me in a way which inspires insight after insight. It’s like she is finding doorways in the darkness, points me toward them, and encourages me to walk through. What I discover on the other side is a bright new way of seeing my past and my present, opening up hope for what comes next.

Rhea’s coaching has not just changed me, but my relationships with friends and family. People respond to me more openly, I can share more richly and authentically with people I love, and I don’t fear so much my ADHD “failures” being discovered or affecting others. Finding an ADHD coach has been one of my best decisions ever, but finding ThinkBright and Rhea had to have been God’s decision, and I am so very thankful.

What I truly appreciated was her encouragement and enthusiasm that gave me hope for the week.

As a classroom teacher, I had researched ADHD extensively, taken multiple college classes on the subject, and worked with ADHD students in my classroom; however, I was at a loss when it came to helping my own son with his ADHD. Rhea came right alongside me with a storehouse of ideas I hadn't even thought of before for both my son and myself as a parent.

What I truly appreciated even more was her encouragement and enthusiasm that gave me hope for the week. We always finished with tangible strategies that she made sure I understood and could effectively implement.

With her gentle spirit and genuine care, Rhea helped me navigate through a difficult time with my son. Even though it's been a while, I still use some of the strategies and mindset that Rhea passed along to me, and I am so grateful for the impact she had on our lives.

How I went from being a mom oblivious to ADHD to a professional ADHD Coach with a passion to help parents see ADHD in their home...

I homeschooled all three of my sons through to university. But there have been some bumps in the road along the way because I only knew the obvious signs of ADHD not the more obscure signs. Had I known these signs my husband and I would have put better supports in place. This would have made it easier on everyone. All three of our sons have graduated with honors, are successfully employed, and operating well in the non-ADHD world.

Unfortunately, that is not the outcome with many college students, especially home-schooled college students with ADHD.

The experience with my sons spurred me on to becoming a professional ADHD life coach with a calling to the homeschool community. ADHD does not go away, but these amazing minds can thrive in the adult world if we teach them to leverage their many strengths and advocate for their occasional need.

I have a passion for helping parents feel confident that they have done everything possible to equip their child for the non-ADHD world.

I am a Professional Certified ADHD Coach and one of the founding members of ThinkBright ADHD Coaching and Targeted Tutoring.

In addition to working with parents I also work with young adults who want to navigate the transition into college or the workplace, and any individual who wants to transform ADHD’s struggles into strengths.
